Coldstream House
A new house designed to respond to sunlight and its passage through the day. Large east facing windows fill the centre of the house with morning light, while a two and a half storey window floods the same space in the afternoon. Small openings were located to catch the sun and accent the space within. Glass-smooth unpainted plaster, some of it with integrated colour, was used throughout. A balance was achieved between open flowing spaces and inviting convivial places. Exterior materials were traditional brick, cut stone and wood arranged in a modern manner.
